For Queensland workers

WorkCover Psychology, For Queenslanders.

A workplace injury affects more than the body. We provide funded psychological care for Queensland workers, by secure video session, from the privacy of your own home.

When work impacts wellbeing

The mind carries injury too.

Many Queensland workers we see describe the same patterns after an injury or workplace incident. You're not alone in any of this.

Sleep that won't settle, even when you're exhausted
Replaying the incident, or avoiding reminders of it
Low mood, irritability, or feeling cut off from people
Worry about money, work, or what comes next
Distress around chronic or persistent pain
Loss of confidence, identity, or sense of purpose
Our approach

Care designed around workplace recovery.

Three things shape how we work with WorkCover clients across Queensland.

01

Statewide telehealth, fast access

Every session is by secure video - from Cairns to Coolangatta, and everywhere in between. No travel, no waiting rooms. We aim to offer new clients a first appointment soon after WorkCover approval is confirmed.

02

Therapy matched to workplace injury

Your psychologist will draw on evidence-informed approaches -including CBT, ACT, and trauma-focused therapy - chosen with you for the psychological impacts of a workplace injury.

03

Coordinated with your treating team

With your consent, your psychologist will liaise with your treating GP, rehabilitation consultant, and case manager - so your psychological care fits inside your wider recovery plan, not alongside it.

Common questions

Things people often ask before they enquire.

How much does it cost?
If your WorkCover Queensland claim is accepted and psychology is approved, sessions are funded by the insurer at the gazetted rate. We bill the insurer directly, so there's no out-of-pocket cost for sessions covered by your accepted claim.
I've never done therapy by video — will it feel awkward?
Many people are surprised at how natural video sessions feel once they begin. Your psychologist will guide the conversation, and you can join from any quiet, private space. We'll send a simple link before your appointment — no app or sign-up required.
Will my employer know what I say in sessions?
Your sessions are confidential. With an accepted WorkCover claim, your psychologist provides progress reports to the insurer (not directly to your employer). We'll explain what's typically included in those reports so there are no surprises.
Do I need a referral?
An accepted WorkCover Queensland claim is what funds the sessions. Many clients are referred by a GP, case manager, or rehabilitation provider — but you can also reach out to us directly and we'll guide you through the next step.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We aim to offer new clients a first appointment soon after the insurer confirms approval. The intake call is the right place to discuss timing for your situation.
What if I'm not ready to talk about what happened?
You set the pace. The first session is about understanding what's happening for you and how we can help — there's no expectation to discuss specific events before you're ready.
What if the psychologist isn't the right fit?
Therapy works best when the relationship feels right. If something isn't fitting, let us know and we'll discuss arranging a change.
Will sessions affect my future employment?
Your clinical records are managed under standard health privacy requirements and the Australian Privacy Principles. Records held by us are not shared with future employers.
I'm worried about going back to work — can you help with that?
Return-to-work distress is one of the most common reasons people are referred to us. Your psychologist can help you think it through, and (with your consent) liaise with your treating team to support a graded approach.
