Trust, patience, and a belief in people’s capacity for growth is at the core of Andrew’s practice. Andrew is a Registered Psychologist with a diverse educational background, enabling him to discuss most subjects with a base level of understanding. Combined with his lived experience, this enables Andrew to genuinely understand many of the struggles that his clients might experience and give well-grounded advice along with empathy.
Andrew’s main area of expertise is working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, behavioural and schooling concerns, anxiety, and childhood trauma. Andrew also sees adults, finding that his understanding of attachment theory and broad knowledge is helpful for many presentations.
Andrew prefers to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy andMindfulness as the basis for his sessions but is happy to work with other modalities when they are a better fit for his client, or upon request. Play also has a place in Andrew’s work as a key way that children learn, and therefore one of the best ways for children to approach a problem.
