Marilyn works with people across the lifespan, meeting clients where they’re at and tailoring therapy to who they are: their needs, goals, personality, and whatever life has decided to throw at them lately.
She works with a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, OCD, personality disorders, emotion regulation, relationships, and self-esteem. Marilyn believes you don’t need a diagnosis or label to benefit from therapy; sometimes knowing that something isn’t quite working, or wanting to understand yourself better, is enough of a place to start. Alongside therapy, Marilyn also provides psychological assessment and testing, with a particular interest in ADHD assessment. She conducts cognitive and academic assessments, as well as assessments relating to dyslexia and learning difficulties.
Her approach is warm, curious, empathetic, and non-judgemental. She draws on evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, while recognising that therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all. You’re a person, not a textbook.
Marilyn values authenticity and collaboration, and believes therapy can involve difficult conversations, meaningful reflection, gentle challenges, and sometimes a good laugh at the absurdity of being human. Together, she works with clients to make sense of what’s happening, build practical skills and insight, and work toward a life that feels meaningful to you, at your own pace.
