Clinical governance
Clinical governance is how a practice keeps care safe and careful, and puts things right when they're not. Here's how it works at Unbound Minds: what happens before you start, what sits behind your sessions, and what to do if something isn't right.
In short
What happens before your first session.
Before suggesting anyone, Client Care checks which of our psychologists work with what you're bringing, including the ages they see and the approaches they use. If nobody here is right for what you need, we'll tell you and suggest where to go.
Every psychologist's AHPRA registration number is on their profile, so you can look them up on the public register.
Search the AHPRA register →We'll confirm the full cost with you before anything is booked, so there are no surprises.
What sits behind your sessions, whoever you see.
Your psychologist has the whole team's experience to draw on, so your care can be looked at from every angle. Part of that is supervision: every psychologist regularly talks their work through with an experienced colleague to check they're on the right track. It's all confidential.
With your permission, and when it's needed or would help, your psychologist can talk your situation through with experienced colleagues, without using your name, and bring their ideas back to your sessions.
Your psychologist checks progress with you, using measures chosen for you and what you're working on, and adjusts the plan if needed.
If your psychologist isn't the right fit, tell us and we'll match you with someone else, no reason needed, with a warm handover so you don't have to tell your story twice.
Our Couples Clinic, co-ordinated by Anela Bradd, has its own rules for couples, including what stays private when you speak on your own.
See how the Couples Clinic works →With your consent, we can write to your GP about what we've found, so your care fits together.
Some of our standards are easiest to explain as things we don't do.
Our clinical standards are led by people you can name.

You can raise a concern whenever you need to, and it won't affect your care.
You can bring it up in a session. Your psychologist would rather know.
Call 1300 151 110 or use our feedback form. You don't have to go through your psychologist first. Our leadership team reviews all feedback and, where needed, follows up respectfully and confidentially.
You can contact the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission on 1800 043 159, or AHPRA on 1300 419 495.
What we record, and what you can ask for.
Your notes are confidential. If AI note-taking would be used in a session, we'll tell you first. No audio is saved, and you can say no without it affecting your care.
How we use AI note-taking →You can ask for a copy of your records. Client Care will explain how, and any limits that apply.
Our privacy policy →Client Care answers Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30pm. If you need help now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.
